Research Assistant - 0.75 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)
Faculty II - Institute of Optics and Atomic Physics / Ultrafast Nanoscience
Reference number: II-133/24 (starting at the earliest possible / limited for period of 5 years / closing date for applications 12/04/24)
Working field:
We are looking for a highly motivated employee with a great interest in experimental basic research in the field of ultrafast nanoscience (https://www.tu.berlin/u-nano ) and participation in university teaching as part of her*his doctorate.
- Basic research in the field of ultrafast dynamics in condensed matter, in particular of low-dimensional semiconductors and semiconductor heterostructures, organic semiconductors, or magnetic materials.
- The experimental methods of the working group include in particular time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and time-resolved electron diffraction.
- Supervision of laboratory and teaching courses.
Requirements:
- Successfully completed scientific university degree (master's, diploma or equivalent) in physics or a related field; very good degree desired
- Enthusiasm about experimental solid-state physics and ultrafast phenomena is a prerequisite, previous experience an advantage
- The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
- Willingness to work as part of a team of experienced experimental mental physicists
- Prior knowledge of programming is an advantage (e.g. Python, Matlab, etc)
