The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of Professor in » Particle and fiber technology for bio-based materials « W2 Tenure Track Assistant Professor (with tenure track to W3) or W3 Associate/Full Professor; to begin as soon as possible.

Scientific environment
The professorship is located at the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability and is integrated into the scientific environment of bio-based material sciences, bioprocess engineering, chemical and thermal process engineering and energy technology as well as into the interdisciplinary environment of bio-economy.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of particle and fiber technology for bio-based materials with a focus on integration of bio-based materials for development and optimization of particle systems and fibers and characterization of their properties technical methods for their production and application with a strong connection to mechanical process engineering. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level (please see www.tum.de/en/faculty-recruiting-faq / for further information).
A technical university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad and experience in acquiring and leading research projects are expected. Interdisciplinary research experience and experience in industry are desired.
