The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of Professor in » Macromolecular Chemistry « The position is a tenured W3 Associate or Full Professor position; to begin in summer semester 2025.

Scientific environment

The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Department of Chemistry at the TUM School of Natural Sciences. Relevant activities at TUM, e.g. the excellence cluster “e-conversion” and the Catalysis Research Center, or at TUMCreate (Singapore) as well as the interdisciplinary research environment at TUM foster an excellent environment for research and teaching.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Macromolecular Science with a focus on sustainable monomer/polymer synthesis, polymerization catalysis and/or functional/responsive polymer materials. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs. 

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level (please seewww.tum.de/en/faculty-recruiting-faq/ for further information). A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad as well as full commitment for collaboration with industrial partners is expected.
