The newly established “Metabolic Reconstruction and Flux Modeling” group at the Institute for Plant Sciences and the Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences (CEPLAS) aims to gain a better understanding of the behavior of plant metabolic systems and their interactions. The group uses computational approaches that are centered around the analysis of large-scale metabolic networks and works closely with experimental labs.

Your Tasks

  • You will be responsible for developing computational methods and scientific research to study plant metabolic systems interactions.
  • You will communicate closely with colleagues and collaboration partners.
  • You will present your results at conferences and in scientific articles.
  • You will be involved in the supervision, training, and teaching of students.
  • You will be engaged in writing independent research proposals

Your Profile

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Physics or a related discipline
  • experience in modeling metabolic networks or other physiological and physical processes in plant systems
  • excellent programming skills
  • knowledge in plant physiology
  • high degree of self-initiative and individual responsibility
  • excellent oral and written communication skills in English

The position is available immediately, on a full time basis (39,83 h.)basis. The position is to be filled for a fixed term up to three years.

If the necessary prerequisites required by tariff regulations as well as the sought after personal qualifications are met, the salary will correspond to the pay grade 13 as specified in the States’ Tariff Agreement (TVL).
