Area of research:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the investigation of the cellular and molecular mechanism of antiviral lead compounds. For this purpose, the effects of natural products and synthetic compounds on cellular and viral membrane components will be studied by modern bioanalytical techniques including mechanosensitive and chemoselective fluorescent probes for high resolution microscopy, mass spectrometry-based leakage and internalization studies, or cellular infection experiments. A part of the work will be performed in biosafety level 3 laboratories on the campus.  

Prerequisite:

Candidates should have a completed Ph.D. degree in cell biology, biochemistry, virology or related disciplines and a track record of successful scientific work proven by peer-reviewed scientific publications. The candidates should be familiar with experimental methods of molecular biology, biochemistry and bioanalytics. Expertise in virology is considered an advantage. The ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international team is mandatory.
