Postdoctoral research fellow (m/f/d) with expected full-time employment - E 13 TV-L HU (third party funding, limited until 29.02.2024)

Job description:

  • Scientific services in research within the excellence cluster “Science of Intelligence”, in the integration project B3 “Swarm robotics and collective intelligence”. Integration/implementation of various behavioral components and principles of natural collective intelligence in robotic swarms with the aim of realizing a synthetic example of collective intelligence in the form of adaptive solution of a complex shepherding problem with robotic swarms.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD) in computer science, robotics or related fields
  • experience with swarm robotics, preferably with one of the two platforms: Kilobot or Thymio II extended by Raspberry Pi
  • very good programming skills in C/C++, Python, ROS, WeBot etc.
  • good mathematical skills
  • candidates should have published in peer-review journals
  • strong interest in interdisciplinary research with life sciences (biology, psychology, neuroscience)
  • ability to work independently in interdisciplinary teams (e.g. guidance of student assistants)
  • excellent English communication skills
