The Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, recognized as a German universities of excellence is offering a fully funded Postdoctoral position in Computational Proteomics and is inviting applications for a:

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Computational Proteomics (f/m/d, E 13 TV-L, 100%)

The position is focused on advancing computational approaches in the dynamic field of Proteomics.

Host: Chair of Applied Bioinformatics / Prof. Oliver Kohlbacher.

Position Overview:

The Postdoctoral Researcher will engage in pioneering research in computational Proteomics. The focus will be on developing computational tools and methodologies for the analysis and interpretation of Proteomic data, derived from mass spectrometry.

Responsibilities:

Conducting innovative Proteomic research in computational mass spectrometry.
Developing novel algorithms and software for the analysis of Proteomics data.
Collaborating with experimental researchers to validate and apply computational tools.
Publishing research findings in leading scientific journals and presenting at international conferences.
Participating in the mentoring of junior scientists and students.
 

The ideal candidate would have:

A PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field. This position is also suited for researchers who are about to finish their Ph.D.
Proven experience in mass spectrometry-based Proteomics (or related omics), and/or general high-throughput data (e.g. next-generation sequencing).
A competitive track record of scientific publications.
Strong programming skills (especially Python and C++).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
A keen interest in interdisciplinary work.

Funding and Duration:

The position is fully funded, with a competitive salary based on the German public service scale (TV-L E13). The initial contract will be for a period of up to 3 years, with the possibility of extension.
