Postdoctoral Research Fellow (f/m/d)

until 30.06.2023, 100% E13 TV-L in the German Research Foundation (DFG)-funded Research Training Group 2455 “BENCh – Benchmark Experiments in Numerical quantum Chemistry”. The regular working hours will be full-time (currently 39.8 hours per week) with a limited contract to June 30, 2023.
Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L.The application window will be open from 20.05.2021 up to 15.08.2021. The earliest starting date is 01.10.2021 and the contract will last until 30.06.2023. Pending positive evaluation of the RTG second period proposal, the contract may be prolonged for up to additional 18 months.

The BENCh Research Training Group (BENCh RTG) consists of a high-level research programme aiming to provide landmark experiments for quantum chemical methods benchmarking. The topics will span from gas phase spectrometry, molecular beam techniques, synthesis to X-ray diffraction. A strong connection between theoretical chemistry and experiment builds the core for the projects. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to develop a research plan under the general topic of theory development and modelling in close connection with one or more of the research projects funded in the initiative. The latter should be a stepping stone for third-party funding applications and establishment of an independent research group in accordance with the Faculty’s career development plan. Candidates should have a strong profile in theoretical chemistry, preferably with 1-3 years of postdoctoral training.
