Starting date 01.04.2024 at Cardiology Department, Innere Med III.

A new opportunity for talented and motivated researcher to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the research group of Dr. Manju Kumari from Department of Cardiology on DFG funded project entitled ‘Transcriptional control of cardiac function and bioenergetics regulatory circuits by type I interferon signaling’. Despite a well-known role for interferon signaling in controlling immune-metabolism in the state of obesity in mice and humans, little is known about its role in heart failure. This project aims to unravel its role in cardiomyopathy progression. Utilizing excellent transgenic mouse models, primary cell-culture models and the most recent research technologies for big data analysis we will decipher the immune and metabolic network altered in cardiac disorders. The candidate will have the opportunity to apply for grants supporting their further research work to enhance career prospects. Our research group is a diverse interdisciplinary team and the candidate should be able to work independently, having troubleshooting and multitasking skills and capable of intellectual input for project development. Application must include a motivation letter, CV, publication list and at least two reference letters or contact details of the referees.
