Dortmund’ (legal entity name) is a research institution institutionally funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the sponsor of ’Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at TU Dortmund’ (IfADo). IfADo explores the risks and potentials of modern work in interdisciplinary approaches. We combine the disciplines of Ergonomics, Immunology, Toxicology, Psychology and Neurosciences.

The Project Group Neuroimmunology (group leader Prof. Dr. Silvia Capellino) offers a full-time position as Postdoctoral Fellow (f/m/d) in Neuro-endocrine-immunology initially for a duration of 36 months with the possibility of extension after positive evaluation. The position is available from August 2024.

The postdoctoral fellow will be part of a research group investigating the influence of neurotransmitters on immune cells and other non-neuronal cells, such as bone cells. Experimental work will be done to better understand how sex hormones and neurotransmitters modulate activation and intracellular pathways of human immune cells and other non-neuronal cells.

The position will provide excellent training and opportunities in many aspects of Neuro-endocrine-immunology. We offer state of the art equipment, a great scientific environment, and an energetic and productive team with many fascinating questions.

Applicants should fulfill following criteria:

  • PhD degree with a strong background in immunology, cell biology and signal transduction
  • Being highly motivated, collaborative and responsible
  • Ability to work independently, establish new techniques and present data in publications and at international meetings
  • Fluency in both oral and written English
  • Experience with flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques will be favorable

  • A full-time position with currently 39.83 hours per week
  • Remuneration according to the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (position value EG 13 TV-L. The classification depends on the collective agreement and personal requirements)
