Offer Description

LMU Munich is one of Europe’s leading research institutions. Scientists from all over the world encounter excellent conditions for their work - in their own research field and in interdisciplinary networks alike.

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented postdoc to join the Robles group, Systems Chronobiology, at the LMU Munich, Germany. We have an open position funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Neurodegeneration Challenge Network (NCDN) within a collaborative project together with Angel Barco ’s laboratory (Neuroscience Institute, Alicante, Spain). The overarching aim of the project is to characterize circadian and sleep-driven nuclear multi-omics dynamics in diverse mouse brain cells using high-end RNAseq and proteomics technology.

The Robles group employs a wide range of mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics methods to study, in health and diseases, circadian and sleep-driven molecular mechanisms (click here to learn more about the group ).

The BMC is located on the Martinsried Campus (one of the best scientific locations in Germany) and offers an ideal research infrastructure with close proximity to the LMU University Hospital, the Faculties of Chemistry and Pharmacy and Biology, the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE-Munich) , Helmholtz Center Munich, the Max Planck Institutes for Biochemistry and Biological Intelligence and the Innovation and Start-up Center Biotechnology (IZB). Off campus, Munich is one of the friendliest and liveliest cities in the world and offers a wide range of cultural and leisure activities all year round.

The project to carry on involves the following technical, experimental and general skill:

  • Subcellular fractionation methods and proteomics and phosphoproteomics sample preparation.
  • Proficient operation of Thermo HPLC and Orbitrab mass spectrometer systems.
  • Large scale proteomics data processing and bioinformatic analyses as well as multi-omics data integration.
  • Competent oral communication and writing reporting of the scientific results.
