Postdoc in mitochondrial physiology
Full-time position available immediately, TVL-E13
You will take the lead in a cutting-edge, industry sponsored project investigating protein components of mitochondrial calcium sequestration.

Your project
You will take the lead in a cutting-edge, industry sponsored project investigating protein components of mitochondrial calcium sequestration. The ability to form, maintain and dissolve large amounts of amorphous calcium phosphate renders mitochondria crucial hubs of cellular calcium homeostasis and signaling. Most functional elements of these control processes remain unknown. Within a genuinely interdisciplinary research network, we will describe the mitochondrial calcium phosphate interacting proteome, functionally characterize its key components and provide the groundwork for innovative therapeutic approaches.

Your profile
We look for a highly motivated graduated scientist from the field of protein biochemistry, or related. Previous experience in affinity chromatography, proteome analysis, and mitochondrial biology is of advantage.

About us
The Chair of Molecular Nutritional Medicine is located at the TUM School of Life Sciences Weihenstephan, Technical University of Munich. Our research addresses the effect of nutrition on energy balance aiming to identify adaptive components of energy expenditure. We study models ranging from the molecular, organellar, cellular to the in vivo level. You will conduct research in a collaborative environment with well-equipped laboratories, excellent cooperation opportunities and a stimulating scientific atmosphere.

The position
This full-time postdoc position (TVL-E13) is available immediately for a one-year duration and can be extended to a total of 3 years pending project evaluation by the sponsor, a large enterprise from the pharmaceutical sector.
