Job description:Postdoc (f/m/d) / Scientific Assistant (f/m/d) Biology/Biotechnology with focus on molecular upcycling of polymers

At the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF), innovative technologies for the circular economy are developed to provide and use mineral and metal-bearing raw materials more efficiently and to recycle them in an environmentally friendly way.
The group BioKollekt is looking for a Postdoc (f/m/d) / Scientific Assistant (f/m/d) Biology/Biotechnology with focus on molecular upcycling of polymers, subject to project approval.
Your tasks
# Development of PU additive and polymer selective peptides
# Development of a microplastic and nanoplastic detection assay
# Upscaling of PU degradation / feed bioenergy plant
# Identification and application of bioagents
# AI-LCA of plastic fragments
Your profile
# Completed university studies (PhD) in the field of Biology/Biotechnology or related field
# Relevant professional experience (3-5 years) in the specified area
# Experiences in Molecular biology - with Phage surface display technology
# Knowledge in Bioinformatic analysis and Bioprocessengineering
# Optional: Experiences in machine learning and LCA
# Ability to work in a team and very good written and spoken English skills
