The Institute of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology seeks an experienced Postdoctoral Researcher with excellent statistical skills to join our international and interdisciplinary team focused on outcomes after pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI). This large, third-party-funded project, with data collection in five countries, is directed by Prof. Dr. Nicole von Steinbuechel with data collection in five countries.

Your Tasks:

  • Close coopration with the team of researchers to develop and validate a new outcome measure specifically for children and adolescents after TBI
  • Examination of long-term trajectories after TBI associated with changes in health-related quality of life (HRQoL), cognition, socio-emotional factors, and biomarkers
  • Take a leading role in running data analysis (in R)
  • Potentially assess children after TBI with neuropsychological and other patient-reported outcome measurement-instruments
  • You will write up study results and publish in peer-revied journals
  • You may contribute to academic teaching (in the German language)

Your profile:

  • A PhD in psychology, or a related field in health sciences
  • Excellent skills in statistics
  • Excellent statistical programming skills in R are mandatory
  • Experience with psychometric analysis (classical and modern test theoretical methods, measurement invariance, multi-level analyses, etc.) and handling large data volumes are required
  • Experience in conducting complex outcome studies (e.g., HRQoL, neuropsychology, psychopathologies, etc.) is an advantage
  • Experience in assessing children is an advantage
  • Excellent command of the English language is mandatory. Proficiency in German is an advantage
