PostDoc position in the field of "Cell Therapy with TCR-engineered T-cell" (m/w/d), E13/100 %

Updated: 2 months ago

16.01.2024, Wissenschaftliches Personal

We are looking for a PostDoc candidate (m/w/d) who shares our enthusiasm about the clinical value of TCR-engineered T-cell products and is interested in working on our new project entitled "Non-viral editing for the manufacturing of TCR-T cells to prevent virus-related diseases in immunocompromised patients”

Our profile

Our mission is to contribute to the accessibility of adoptive cell therapy with TCR-engineered T cells by developing T-cell manufacturing processes suitable for clinical application, in addition to exploring novel immunotherapeutic approaches. To answer these questions, we have developed innovative CRISPR-Cas9-mediated cell engineering methodologies, alongside high-throughput identification of clinically relevant TCRs. Within this DZIF-funded project, we will leverage these technologies to develop ultra-fast processes for the GMP-compliant manufacturing of TCR-T cell products. Furthermore, we will explore how the efficiency of TCR-T cell products could be increased by the combined use of multiple TCRs and/or different cell populations.

Your profile

- PhD degree in Immunology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Biology or Biochemistry with outstanding results
- In-depths experience in CRISPR-based cell editing tools and/or immunological assays/techniques
- Experience in in vivo animal experiments is beneficial
- Experience with bioinformatics analysis tools (R/python) is a plus
- Enthusiasm for basic science and cell engineering
- Excellent team spirit, presentation, scientific writing
- Excellent communication skills in English

Your tasks

- Developing/integrating novel cell engineering tools into the manufacturing of advanced TCR-T cell prod-ucts
- In vivo testing of advanced TCR-T cell manufacturing processes
- Evaluation of innovative T cell-based immunotherapies (e.g. combinations of HLA-class I and class II-restricted TCRs)
- Participation in the preparatory work (e.g. Scientific Advice, IMPD) for initiating a Phase I clinical trial
- Supervison of (graduate) students

We offer

- Ambitious and innovation-oriented team committed to the clinical translation of TCR-engineered T-cell products
- Close collaborations with several laboratories at TUM and external partners
- Well-equipped laboratory in our institute close to Munich city center
- Full time position as scientist / PostDoc starting as soon as possible, currently secured until 31.12.2028 (salary according to TV-L)

Application

Are you excited to bring TCR T-cells into the clinic? Great! We are looking forward to your email application (CV, letter of motivation and at least two references in one document) until February 9th 2024. TUM seeks to increase the portion of female employees. Qualified females are, therefore, explicitly encouraged to apply.

The position is suitable for disabled persons. Disabled applicants will be given preference in case of generally equivalent suitability, aptitude and professional performance.
