The Institute for Theoretical Physics at the Georg-August University of Goettingen invites applications for a

Post-doc position (f/m/d)
(100 %, 39,8 hours per week) -

in the field of (nonequilibrium) statistical physics in the group of Prof. Dr. Matthias Krüger. The initial appointment will be for one year and an extension is possible. Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L.

The group is interested in topics such as, e.g., modeling of non-equilibrium fluids, fluctuation induced phenomena (Casimir interactions or energy transfer), microrheology and dry friction, and fluctuation dissipation relations. Candidates are expected to hold a PhD degree in theoretical physics or a related area, and have a strong background in statistical physics, ideally related to the above mentioned topics. Very good communication skills in English are a requirement and experience with numerical work will be useful.
