In a DFG-funded project on infection of the liver with hepatitis B viruses, we are characterizing the immune determinants for control of infection vs failure to control of infection. The focus of the project is on virus-specific CD8 T cells and the local hepatic regulation of their effector functions through environmental and cytokine-induced signals. The AG Wohlleber is looking for a Post-doctoral researcher to investigate the regulation and dynamics of CD8 T cell immunity and identify mechanisms or pathways that will decide whether an HBV infection will develop into acute or chronic infection.
