Job Offer from January 27, 2023

The Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne, Germany, is seeking to fill multiple PhD and postdoctoral researcher positions (m/f/d) to join an ERC-funded project focused on designing and building synthetic microbial consortia to understand host-microbiota interactions.

These positions provide an exciting opportunity to develop and apply novel experimental and computational approaches to uncover fundamental principles in the assembly, functions, and dynamic behaviour of microbial communities associated with plants, algae and other photosynthetic organisms. For more information on the project, please visit our group and project websites.

Successful candidates will have a background in microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, computational biology, or ecology and be eager to work in a multidisciplinary team. The institute provides state-of-the-art facilities for next-generation sequencing, metabolomics, and laboratory automation, as well as opportunities for professional development and training in these areas.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with excellent communication and analytical skills and a strong interest in cutting-edge research at the intersection of microbiology and computational biology.

We offer a dynamic and international research environment and competitive salary and benefits. If you are interested in applying, please submit, as a single PDF document, a cover letter, CV, and names of three references to Ruben Garrido-Oter  until February 26th 2023.

We look forward to receiving your application.
