Master Thesis - Laser process optimization for the realization of a plastic-free encapsulation method
Your Job:
- Literature research on /Familiarization with the topic of laser welding of glass and metal
- Familiarization with the laser system
- Qualitative measurement of the lifetime of charge carriers in processed Si wafers/solar cells
- Optimization of the laser process for joining glass with metal
- Glass-to-glass encapsulation of a wafer/solar cell using the glass-metal joining process
- Verification of the encapsulation quality using Damp-Heat tests (moisture ingress) and lifetime measurements
- Analysis and documentation of the results
Your Profile:
- Excellent academic performance in a master’s program in electrical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of laser technology
- Initial experience in optimizing laser processes and with an object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Matlab) is beneficial
- Analytical and structured thinking
- Fluent written and spoken English or German
