Using patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), which we partially edit with novel designer nucleases (CRIPSR/Cas9), we try to elucidate the mechanisms that cause their emergence and progression. Gained knowledge will serve as the basis for future therapeutic options for these currently difficult or even non-treatable diseases.
