Junior researcher in project on Yucatec Maya(all genders welcome)

to be filled. Starting date is 10/1/2024. The position is limited to 09/30/2027.
Job contents:
- research within the a research project on current developments in the grammar Yucatec Maya (funded by the German Research Foundation; principal investigator: Stavros Skopeteas; collaboration with the Humboldt University Berlin and the UNAM/Merida).
- fieldwork on Yucatec Maya in the areas of syntax and prosody;
- presentation and publication of research findings;
- participation in the activities of the General Linguistics Department (colloquia and publications).
- The preparation of a PhD within this position is expected.
We expect:
- completed MA-degree linguistics or equivalent (required)
- very good oral/written command of English (required)
- competence of Spanish (desirable; if not, to be acquired within the project)
- solid background of current linguistic theories, in particular syntax/phonology (desirable).
- experience in empirical methods (fieldwork methods, analysis of quantitative data) (desirable).
