Junior Research Group Leader

(Payscale up to TV-L E14)

for a fixed-term contract until 30.04.2025 to be filled as soon as possible. Part-time employment is possible.

Augsburg University and the University Medical Center Augsburg share the common research focus on medical information sciences and are part of the Medical Informatics Initiative consortium DIFUTURE. A medical data integration center is currently being established.

We are looking for an excellent and experienced early career scientist to establish and lead a junior research group (group leader plus 3 full-time PhD positions) for development, prototypic implementation and evaluation of a modular software platform supporting molecular tumor boards (MTB). Research topics should include biomedical data integration and analysis, modeling processes within the MTB as well as clinical decision support based on prior knowledge and machine learning approaches. A close interdisciplinary collaboration with fellow researchers and clinicians is expected.

Your profile:

  • A postdoctoral researcher with a background in medical informatics, bioinformatics, business informatics or related disciplines with a strong publication record

  • Experience with student supervision and administrational or organizational activities is a plus

  • Interested in interdisciplinary and collaborative research and open to new ideas

  • Strong communication skills in English and German

Required qualification has to be proven by relevant certificates.
