Junior Professor of Geomaterials (salary grade: W1) with Tenure Track to W3
to commence as soon as possible (minimum salary per month: 4,912 euros) as a fixed-term civil servant position. This tenure track professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States.
We are looking for an early-career scholar with the ability to work independently and a high degree of development potential in the field of geomaterials. The applicant is expected to investigate the structure and dynamics of the Earth and of the planets by high-pressure experiments. Fields of research may include experimental geochemistry, geophysics, mineralogy, mineral physics, petrology, planetology, or volcanology. The expertise of the applicant should complement existing strengths at Bayerisches Geoinstitut.
The ability to teach in English is expected, as well as participation in teaching introductory geology courses, courses in the master program “Experimental Geosciences”, and supervision of PhD students.
