In the Faculty of Chemistry, Department of Chemical Biology, Prof. Olalla Vázquez, offers aposition starting from next possible date until 5 months for a Graduate Assistant.Tasks include scientific services in research, in particular synthesis of organic molecules and peptides.

Skills/Qualifications

It is a temporary post that can be used for further develop professional training. The time limit is based on Section 2 (1) WissZeitVG. The general conditions of employment and the personal requirements for employment as a research assistant are based on Section III.3 of the temporary guidelines of the Philipps University of Marburg for the temporary employment of academic staff (temporary guidelines).

 


Specific Requirements

The candidate must hold a master degree in chemistry, pharmacy or biochemistry with a strong background in organic synthesis. Practical experience in organic chemistry and / or peptide synthesis is required. In addition, the applicant must be able to independently work on organic synthesis. Basic knowledge in chemical biology and biochemistry (protein expression) are desirable. The candidate should also be interested in learning biological methods (for example cell-culture). Our interdisciplinary and international group has a strong team spirit, which will also be expected from the candidate
