The Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Science at the University of Bamberg is going to fill a position for
Full Professor (m/f/d) W3 salary level of
Distributed Systems as tenured civil servant starting in the winter semester 2025/26.
We are looking for an expert in the field of Distributed Systems who has shown excellent research as
reflected by a clear research profile and international collaborations in one or more of the following
areas:
• Technologies and tools for designing and implementing distributed and service-oriented systems
(esp. middleware, Cloud computing and services);
• Development of models, methods, and architectures for distributed systems (e.g., smart contracts
or consensus algorithms);
• Theory of distributed systems and their applications (esp. mobile ad-hoc networks and sensor
networks);
• Distributed management of resources in wide-scale distributed systems (e.g. micro-service
architectures or applications in the context of Smart Cities).
