Within the research focus “Public Economics”, academics from the department deal with questions of labor market and social policy (analysis of labor market reforms, reform of the welfare state, education and family policy) as well as with questions of inequality and redistribution. Research is theoretical and/or empirical.

Job description:

• independent research in the field of public economics
• teaching in the area of public economics at bachelor’s and master's degree level
• supervision of bachelor's and master's theses in the field of public economics; supervision of doctoral students
• work activities serve a person’s own scientific qualification

Requirements:
University degree in economics and doctorate in the area of public economics

Desirable:
• distinguished aptitude for scientific work, proven by a very good doctorate, ideally no longer than four years ago
• sound theoretical knowledge in the area of public economics, ideally in the field of tax theory (optimal tax theory/international taxation) and/or public choice
• interest in working on theoretical and empirical scientific questions in the field of taxation and/or political economy
• very good written and spoken German as well as English language skills
