The Small Animal Clinic of the Animal Hospital Freie Universität Berlin is one of five university clinics for small animals and pets in Germany and acts as the central university contact for veterinary-clinical services in the field of small animal and pet medicine in the Berlin-Brandenburg region with its more than 6 million inhabitants.
In addition to our comprehensive teaching and research activities, we focus on the medical care of all types of small pet animals and small wild animals.
As a clinic, we offer a 24-hour emergency service 7 days a week and are looking for active support.
A wide range of applications and the unique environment in Berlin ensure an interesting and diverse field of activity in teaching, research and service.

Job description:
• Organizing and providing veterinary care for internal medicine patients; attending to outpatients and inpatients in the field of internal medicine and intensive care medicine for small animals
• Independent teaching in accordance with the Teaching Obligations Ordinance (LVVO) in the subject of internal medicine for dogs and cats, including lectures, propaedeutics, clinical rotations, emergency courses, and elective duties
• Giving examinations in internal medicine (state examinations) and propaedeutics
• Professional and organizational involvement in the training of residents of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and in obtaining the qualification of specialist veterinarian in internal medicine
• Research in the field of small animal internal medicine

Requirements:
Specialist veterinarian Internal Medicine or Diplomate of the European or American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM/ACVIM); doctorate in veterinary medicine; veterinary license to practice medicine, as well as at least three years of scientific or practical experience in a full-time employment after the attainment of the university degree.

(Professional) Experience:
• Substantiated theoretical
• Substantiated theoretical and practical knowledge of small animal internal medicine and related disciplines
• Relevant experience in running internal medicine consultations and emergency consultations
• Experience in teaching and the training of specialist veterinarians in internal medicine / of residents of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine
• Knowledge of general hospital hygiene and infection prevention as well as knowledge of applicable anaesthetic and pharmaceutical legislation
• Relevant experience in the field of scientific publishing
• Knowledge of quality management (including knowledge of good scientific practice and good veterinary practice GVP)
