Job description:
Participation in research, teaching and service in the field of virology with focus on general cellular and molecular virology.
• independent management of scientific projects
• supervision of doctoral students
• acquisition of support for ongoing research activities through proposal writing and advancement of the Institute's core competency/research agenda.
• planning, conducting and evaluating scientific experiments and writing reports
• disseminate, present and publish scientific results
• participation in the academic self-administration.

The activity serves the own scientific qualification

Requirements:
completed scientific university studies and doctorate (PhD) or equivalent degree in veterinary medicine, biology, biotechnology or related field.

Desirable:
• experience in handling cell cultures and in virological assays.
• experience with animal experiments (ideally with chickens, FELASA Cat. B course or equivalent)
• good communication skills
• team player who is able to formulate clear scientific hypotheses and work effectively with collaborators.
• good command of written and spoken English.
• german language skills are an advantage.
• evidence of successful teaching and research at a university as well as excellent research activities; experience with animal experiments
