Job description:
A position is available in the research project “Harvesting dark plasmons for surface-enhanced Raman scattering” that is funded by the ERC. The goal of the project is to realized and exploit novel excitations for near-field imaging/spectroscopy and plasmon-enhanced spectroscopy. Such states could be dark plasmons that are excited by structured light fields (azimuthal polarization, HG beams) or collective excitations of molecules. We are looking for candidates who want to contribute to this cutting edge research line in a lively and multidisciplinary team. You should have a background in advanced spectroscopy, laser physics, or certain areas of nanomaterials. You will get trained on the fabrication of photonic nanodevices and their study with exceptional experimental tools such as near-field scanning optical microscopy and multi-wavelength Raman scattering.
Requirements:
MSc in physics, materials science, or a related field.
Desirable:
We will evaluate application from various subfields. Highly desired is proven experience in one or more of the following areas: Scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscopy (s-SNOM), tip-enhanced Raman scattering, preparation of structured light and laser beam profiling, nanoplasmonics, (micro)modulation spectroscopy, advanced Raman and plasmon-enhanced Raman scattering, construction and validation of optical setups. Excellent English skills.
