The Bottanelli lab is looking to hire a student assistant on a project funded by the Human Frontier Science Program early career research grant “T cell microvillus as a new signaling organelle”. The lab aims to investigate the function of T cell microvilli in signaling and immune response using a combination of gene editing techniques and super-resolution microscopy.

Job description:
We are looking for a student to develop trafficking assays based on the RUSH system (Boncompain et al., 2012) to investigate trafficking in T cells. Envisaged tasks are basic lab maintenance (making of media and buffers), cloning and molecular biology, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, mammalian cell culture and imaging.

Desirable:
Candidates should have completed at least the first two semesters of their Bachelor studies in Biochemistry, biology or related subjects. Basic lab skills (for example making buffers and media). Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment. Good organization and note taking skills. Deep interest in membrane biology.
