The EU-project MobiliTraIN is an international training network focusing on the development of ion mobility-high resolution mass spectrometry (IM-HRMS) together with 21 partners from academia and industry.
Aim of this particular project is the development and refinement of models for the theoretical prediction of collision cross sections. Central for this will be the in-depth structural characterization of few selected standards using a combination of gas phase infrared spectroscopy, ion mobility spectrometry and density functional theory.
Non-tariff payment of employer gross from 3.942,20 € to 4 437,20 €.

Job description:
• Recording multidimensional datasets consisting of m/z, CCS, and high-resolution gas phase IR spectra for ten selected biomolecular standards.
• Development of a trajectory-method based algorithm for de novo CCS prediction.
• Evaluation of the potential for IM-HRMS-based structural identification of compounds.

Requirements:
• Completed academic degree (equiv. to Master’s) in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• Applicants must comply with the MSCA mobility rule: they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Germany for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline.

Desirable:
• Knowledge in the areas of mass spectrometry, ion mobility spectrometry and action spectroscopy.
• Planning and execution of DFT calculations and their comparison with experimental data.
• Experience in working with biomolecules.
• High motivation for independent scientific work.
