Materials for a sustainable energy supply and the operation of the BESSY II electron storage ring - these are the cornerstones for the HZB and its research. Both complement each other, because research questions force the further development of the experimental environment at BESSY II and vice versa; the possibilities that BESSY II offers accelerate energy research enormously.
