Offer Description
Shape memory alloys are metallic materials that can change their shape under the influence of temperature and can therefore function as actuators, for example. A research project with industrial partners aims to investigate the extent to which such alloys can develop their functionality as a coating on a cost-effective steel substrate. In particular, the mechanical properties and susceptibility to corrosion of the specimens will be examined and correlated with the selected welding parameters and the chemical composition of the respective shape memory alloy.
