The German Heart Center of the Free State of Bavaria associated to the Technical University of Munich is a clinic with international reputation and a state of the art technical and medical equipment. The Department of Experimental Cardiology is seeking a Bioinformatics or Biostatistics Scientist (m/f/d) Extend our German Heart Center research team and enhance the scientific knowledge in the field of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) and Multi-OMICS-driven Precision Medicine. DigiMed Bayern is a multi-million Euro big-data research project in which our consortium of prestigious academic partners develop a profound understanding of atherosclerosis - the main risk factor for myocardial infarction and stroke. Extend our German Heart Center research team and enhance the scientific knowledge in the field of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) and Multi-OMICS-driven Precision Medicine. Major tasks:
- Active collaboration with national and international project partners
- Joint bioinformatics project management in scientific projects and consortia
- Management of large scale research data and their integration into a central data lake
- Support of multi-OMICS data analysis (Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics) and integration with clinical data with the goal to improve understanding of cardiovascular diseases and contribute to personalized prediction, prevention and treatment
- Statistical expertise and communication with different stake holders

What you bring:
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology or similar, e.g. Master's degree/Diploma plus at least two years of professional experience
- Strong bioinformatics and statistical expertise are a prerequisite
- Knowledge and use of different IT-systems in hospital and scientific environments
- Experience in working in a Linux environment and knowledge of Bash, R and Python is required
- Previous knowledge and/or strong interest in human genetics and multi-OMICs driven precision medicine is highly appreciated
- Data analysis skills and experience with omics and next-generation sequencing datasets as well as their relevant data analysis tools and pipelines
- Excellent English language skills (spoken and written), Basic German skills would be desirable
