Your profile

  • A very good M.Sc. degree in computer science (or related discipline)
  • Very good knowledge of usability and user experience
  • Very good programming knowledge for the development of user interfaces
  • Previous knowledge in the area of privacy is an advantage
  • Ability to autonomously conduct scientific research, commitment, team spirit, and communication skills
  • A very good command of the English language and a good command of the German language
  • Willingness to pursue a doctoral degree

Your duties
  • Independent research as part of the BMBF-funded project:“Unboxing.IoT.Privacy: Tool-supported, moderated and citizen-centered community platform for privacy classification of IoT products”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           The goal is to create transparency about the data collected, stored, or transmitted to other devices and servers by IoT devices, so that citizens can make informed decisions about their privacy. User interfaces will be developed for and with those concerned, so that the results of the privacy analyses achieved in the project by another partner are made understandable for them. These user interfaces will be then integrated into the community platform to be developed in collaboration with the project partners: Hochschule Bonn-Rhein Sieg, Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz, and ONEKEY GmbH
  • Communicate the obtained scientific results in conference and journal publications and present them at scientific conferences
  • Supervision of student assistants and theses on research question related to the project
  • Participation in the consortium meetings with the other project partners

Our research group “Computer Security and Privacy” focuses on interdisciplinary topics in the field of privacy, in which the human factor plays a key role.
