At the University of Göttingen -Public Law Foundation-, Department für Agrarökonomie und Rurale Entwicklung, we are recruiting:
2 Postdoctoral Researchers in Agricultural Economics (all genders welcome)
Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L/100 %.

Starting immediately. The position is limited to 3 years.
The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (TVL-E13) with 100%. The positions are affiliated to the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development . The Department is a leading research institute in agricultural economics and international development in Germany, currently housing the Research Training Group “Sustainable Food Systems (RTG2654) ” which is funded by German Research Foundation (DFG).
Your tasks
The postdoctoral researchers are expected to plan and conduct research related to agricultural / development economics, strengthen the research profile of the Department while also developing their own research agenda. The postdoctoral researchers will be affiliated to the Department and will be working with professors closely related to their research areas.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates who work in one or more of the following areas:

  • Sustainable food system analysis
  • Machine learning, AI and digital agribusiness management
  • Agricultural and food policy analysis
  • International agricultural development

The tasks include
  • Development and design of innovative research ideas
  • Contribution to third party-funding proposals of the department and developing your own third party-funding proposals
  • Data acquisition and research data management Contribution to teaching of the department
  • Empirical analyses of quantitative data using statistical and/or econometric methods
  • Active interaction with other researchers across disciplinary boundaries
  • Presentation and publication of research results
  • Supervising bachelor/master students, and doctoral researchers

Your profile
  • PhD (completed or close to completion) in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Data Sciences, Psychology, Statistics or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with quantitative or qualitative research methods
  • Clear long-term research career plan
  • Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Excellent command of the English language

The position is based in Göttingen (Germany).
