Offer Description

The candidate will be responsible for the synthesis of new metal supported on depleted uranium oxide catalysts for downstream application in catalysis.
The Researcher will supervise the complete materials and processes characterization throughout all main characterization facilities available at the research team and for the further optimization process.

- Preparation of supported metal on depleted uranium oxide catalysts containing defects
- Determine the chemico-physical and morphological properties of all synthesized materials
- Design and set up of the catalytic tests (at low pressure up to 4 bar) and evaluation of the catalyst performance in the production of long chain hydrocarbons
- Interpretation of the catalytic performance outcomes and analytic results
- Disseminate and promote the results of his/her scientific activity
- Write reports in English for internal assessment and publications,
- Disseminate the results of his/her research activity through meetings (internal and external), colloquia
- Supervise students (doctoral students, masters)

The Institute of Chemistry and Processes for Energy, Environment and Health (ICPEES), is a joint research unit under the supervision of the CNRS and the University of Strasbourg (UMR7515). Its staff includes about sixty permanents researchers and, more than 80 non-permanent researchers, among doctoral students, post-docs and other fixed-term contracts. The institute has a world-renowned know-how in the field of materials development and their application to various catalytic processes including industrially relevant transformations (in collaboration with various companies).
The researcher will be part of the team of Nanomaterials, Catalysis and Interfaces under the supervision of Dr. Cuong PHAM-HUU, Director of research CNRS, and Dr. Jean-Mario NHUT, Research engineer CNRS. The researcher will also participate in the scientific discussions for planning his research activity in the team and optimize the results of his activity regarding further dissemination.
