Offer Description

The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for the participatory and spatially explicit modelling of scenarios for upscaling nature-based solutions (NbS), applied to mountain territories. NbS are chose during the project's implementation with territories stakeholders among existing or desired actions for the restoration (e.g. hedgerows), management (e.g. grasslands, verges, hedgerows) and biodiversity conservation. Scenarios co-produced with stakeholders will focus on the amount and location of NbS. Modelling will be the target method for an iterative process projecting the implementation, its resource needs and its territory-scale benefits for biodiversity, local society and its economy.

- Organisation and execution of workshops and interviews with mountain stakeholders
- Participatory modelling of scenarios
- Assessment of scenario outcomes for biodiversity, ecosystem services, social and economic indicators of criteria co-produces with actors
- Assessment of barriers / constraints and of resources (human, material, financial…) for the implementation of scenarios
- Monitoring literature: territory-scale assessment of benefits of NbS and upscaling methods
- Publication of scientific results in international journals
- Oral presentation of results in accessible format for territories and regional actors, and for non-academic partners of the SOLU-BIOD national living-lab network

Their activities will be integrated to the ServAlp research theme on nature-based climate change adaptation with a group of junior scientists and led by Sandra Lavorel and Ignacio Palomo (IGE, Grenoble) and regular meetings. They will collaborate regularly with national partners of the national SOLU-BIOD project and its Linving labs network.
