Offer Description

There is a short vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher in computational cognitive modeling in the Cognitive Variability Group (PI: Valentin Wyart) of the Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience Laboratory at the Department of Cognitive Studies, Ecole Normale Superieure / PSL University in Paris, France.

The Cognitive Variability Group is an international research team which welcomes members from all backgrounds and origins, and therefore communicates in English.

This short position is for 4 (four) months from July 1st, 2024 until October 31st, 2024. The position is funded by a research grant from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche awarded to Valentin Wyart.

Skills/Qualifications

The hired postdoctoral researcher should hold a PhD degree in cognitive sciences or neuroscience, and have extensive experience with the computational modeling of human behavior in choice-based paradigms (multi-armed bandits, hidden-state inferences) using advanced quantitative methods (maximum likelihood estimation, particle filtering, Bayesian model selection).


Specific Requirements

The position will also require developing artificial neural network models of behavior in choice-based paradigms, and writing detailed reports of performed analyses and their findings for publication in international peer-reviewed journals.
