Offer Description
The aim of this project is to develop multilayered cellulosic nanocomposite thin films designed from nanocelluloses with a crossed organization between each layer, by the successive application of reverse extensional flow applied simultaneously during an ultrafiltration process. Drying or UV-curing will be the two methods used to fix the structural organization achieved and develop multilayered solid films. The aqueous or polymeric suspensions used will be composed of cellulose nanocrystals or nanofibrils associated with particles of interest such as (platelets, fibers or nanotubes) clays, or carbon nanotubes or sheets of graphene oxide. The multilayered structured films obtained will be characterized by SAXS, SALS, SEM and XRD. Mechanical characterizations by uni- or bi-axial tensile tests and micro-indentation will be carried out, and oxygen and water vapor barrier properties or conductive properties will be assessed.
- Implement and participate in the development of filtration cells coupled to shear or extensional flows, based on already existing cells.
- Study different systems based on nanocelluloses and particles of interest.
- develop nanocomposites using filtration methods coupled with flows.
- Characterize nanocomposites from the point of view of their structure by SAXS, SALS, SEM, XRD.
- Characterize nanocomposites from the point of view of their mechanical properties by uni- or bi-axial tensile tests and micro-indentation tests.
- Evaluate the barrier properties to oxygen or water vapor or the conductive properties of the multi-layer films manufactured.
In the framework of the Carnot Polynar, his/her work will be carried out principally at the LRP which is part of the CNRS "institut Ingénierie" (LRP, http://www.laboratoire-rheologie-et-procedes.fr/ ) and will be under the supervision of Frédéric Pignon in collaboration with Nicolas Hengl from LRP, Bruno Jean et Jean-Luc Putaux from Cermav, Laurent Orgéas et Lucie Bailly from 3SR and Michael Holzinger from DCM. Regular exchanges will be established with these laboratories, which will provide their respective expertise and support.
