Offer Description

Taking benefit from a large family of chiral Halide Perovskites recently synthesized at MOLTECH-Anjou laboratory, the candidate will characterize the structure and properties of chiral HP thin films, in order to use them for the fabrication of electroluminescent and spintronic devices.

The candidate will proceed with the surface characterization by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Grazing-Incidence Wide-Angle/Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (GIWAXS/GISAXS) to reveal the best materials for the fabrication of devices such as PeLEDs (LED based on chiral Halide Perovskite materials). He or she will perform the magnetic conducting-probe AFM measurements to characterize the CISS effect in this family of hybrid materials.

Founded in 1988, MOLTECH-Anjou (CNRS - University of Angers) integrates more than 84 people (professors, assistant-professors, researchers, engineers, administrative staffs, post-doctoral fellows and PhD students) which are organized in five research teams of chemists and physicists.
A key characteristic of MOLTECH-Anjou lies on the convergence of the research topics, which are all focused on smart molecular materials and which are supported by expertises ranging from theoretical chemistry and molecular modeling, organic and inorganic syntheses, coordination chemistry, physical and analytical chemistry, material sciences,… to photonics. These skills are implemented into fields related to the optical and electronic properties of organic materials, with a special focus for addressable materials, molecular electronics and nanostructuration. The candidate will work for the CIMI Team under the supervision of Dr Alexandre Abhervé.

Eligibility criteria

In this context, a young researcher with a PhD in chemistry or materials science is searched. The candidate must have an expertise on surface characterization of molecular and/or hybrid materials (especially by AFM). A good knowledge on crystallography and structural measurements techniques (such as GIWAXS/GISAXS) will be an asset. The candidate must be fluent in English, be able to write high-quality research papers, and be autonomous, rigorous and highly motivated.
