Offer Description

Main mission: The agent will participate in the research activities of the GINKGO project (Global change Impact oN Karst GrOundwater). The agent will be in charge of (i) developing numerical tools dedicated to the hydro(geo)logical modeling of karst aquifers; (ii) assessing the combined impacts of anthropogenic pressures and climate change on the quantity and quality of karst groundwater resources. The agent will also participate in the research activities of both HYTAKE and HEC teams, in particular through collaboration within the K3 project (PEPR One Water).

Activities: preparation and formatting of data from an ensemble of databases; analysis of hydrodynamic, hydrochemical and Earth Observation Systems (EOS) data; characterization and modelling of the hydrodynamic and hydrogeochemical functioning of karst systems; simulation of piezometric levels and spring flows for a range of climate scenarios; development of forecasting scenarios to investigate future changes in the quantity and quality of karst groundwater resources; preparation of a grant application to the ERC in order to continue the research activities developed as part of the GINKGO project; participation in training activities by (i) supervising tutored projects, Master 1 and Master 2 level internships, and the scientific co-supervision of PhD students; (ii) occasional contributions to TEE Master's courses and participation in the examination panel; co-leadership of the 'rainfall-level-flow modelling' working group within the KARST national observation service (SNO-KARST, labelled INSU/CNRS and supported by HSM); building a research project supported by HSM with a view of applying for the CNRS researcher competition.
