Offer Description

The Institut Cochin is a research center affiliated to INSERM, CNRS, Université Paris Cité. The Institut Cochin is composed of 41 teams and 10 core facilities.

The team Leukemia and niche dynamics is composed of 9 collaborators working at the forefront of innovative research in the fields of leukemia microenvironment, in vivo organoids and in vitro tissue-on-chip systems. We have secured competitive national and international fundings to sustain our projects (e.g., ERC STG, Ligue, Atip-Avenir, EHA grant, Emergence Ville de Paris).

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team for 2 years and work on newly developed organoids and tissue-on-chip systems to unravel the complex interplay between vascular endothelial and hematopoietic cells during leukemic development and test new preclinical approaches.

Main activities:

- Conduct cutting-edge research in the development and application of microfluidics-based platforms for tissue-on-chip and organoid studies.
- Design, fabricate, and optimize microfluidic devices and organoids for cell culture, tissue modeling, and drug testing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers to explore novel approaches and techniques for advancing organoid technology.
- Perform experiments, analyze data, and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentor and train graduate and undergraduate students working on related projects.
- Present research findings at conferences and engage in scientific outreach activities.

Skills:

- Strong background in tissue-on-chip/organoid systems and microscopy are mandatory.
- A record of scientific publications in reputable journals.
- Proficiency in primary cell culture, 3D organoids/tissue-on-chip/microfluidics, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, molecular biology (cloning, infection/transfection, gene manipulation)
- Computational, bioinformatics and coding skills are welcome but not mandatory.
