Offer Description

The HERA team assessing health risks related to the environment wishes to recruit a post-doctoral fellow in environmental epidemiology for a period of 6 months to study pubertal development and hormonal status in adolescence in the PARIS birth cohort. It is a work of statistical exploitation.
The PARIS cohort «Pollution and Asthma Risk: an Infant Study» set up in 2003-2006 includes 3840 newborns from Ile-de-France followed regularly by questionnaires and clinical-biological assessments to determine respiratory/allergic morbidity. Monitoring extended into adolescence to cardiometabolic morbidity and neurodevelopment. It resulted in the establishment of a biotheque.

The position is attached to the HERA team headed by Professor Isabelle Momas of the Epidemiology and Statistics Research Center – CRESS headed by Philippe RAVAUD (PU-PH University of Paris), CRESS was created on January 1, 2014, it consists of 9 research teams and a common service:

The CRESS has more than 435 people, 139 researchers including 72 research professors, 123 engineers and technicians, 86 doctoral students, 27 post-doctoral fellows and more than 60 students welcomed each year.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

-  create the database of data collected by questionnaire and from biological assays;
-  analyze these data to assess pubertal development and hormonal status;
-  examine associations between these assessments and environmental exposures/other morbidities;
-  write and publish the results in a peer-reviewed international journal.
 
The post-doctoral researcher will work in collaboration with the epidemiologists and biologists of the HERA team.

- PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics or public health;
- Desired knowledge of biology;
- Interest in environmental health issues;
  Use of STATA® or R software;
- Fluency in English.

- Analyze quantitative data to answer research questions;
- Developing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals;
- Present research results at conferences and seminars;
- Work closely with research team members and external partners.
