The research work proposed in this post-doctoral project includes three main aspects. The first one is theoretical in nature. It aims at setting up the most relevent quantum approaches enabaling the determination of the interaction potential between charged metallic clusters and metal atoms on one hand, and neutral clusters and metal ions. The second aspect is more linked to numerical simulation. It aims at identifying the open source or commercial software that make it possible to determine the ab initio interaction potential for the investigated system. Another opbjective of this part is to evaluate the computational resources required to perform these ab inition simulations. The last part of the projct aims at setting up a relevent molecular dynamic simulation methodology that makes use of the ab initio potentials that would be determined in the first step of this work.

To setup a theoretical methodology along with simulation tools enabling the investigation of the cluster-interactions involving charged metallic clusters.

This research work will be carried out at Laboratoire des Sciences des Procédés et des Matériaux (LSPM) a CNRS Research Laboratory of approximately 150 peoples.
More, specifically the research work will be carried out in the research group 'Plasma-surface Interactions et MicroPlasma' (IPS-MP), that is part of the research priority 'Plasma Processes, Nanostructures and thin films' (PPANAM). The post-doc fellow will be working in close collaboration with two permanent researchers from this group.
