Offer Description

Theorist in soft matter physics and mechanics to develop models of the behaviour of cohesive granular media.

Predicting flows in complex granular media remains a major challenge for many industries. While our understanding of dry granular materials has progressed significantly, the presence of more complex interaction forces (adhesion, coating, etc.) or geometric entanglement phenomena in fibrous media make their behaviour more complex. The recruitment of this post-doc is part of a European ERC project aimed at a better understanding and modelling of cohesive divided media. The post-doc will be responsible for developing theoretical approaches in close connection with the experiments and simulations carried out in the group. He/she will also be required to supervise master's and PhD students.

The post-doctorate will take place within the SOFT axis of the IUSTI laboratory, a collaborative team working on the physics of complex matter, from granular media to bio-inspired systems. https://iusti.cnrs.fr/la-recherche-a-liusti/milieux-divises-et-fluides-…
The work will take place on the Chateau Gombert campus of Aix Marseille University.

The position is located in a sector covered by the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival be authorised by the competent authority of the MESR.
