Researcher in the physics and mechanics of soft materials to develop and supervise numerical research on the rheology of cohesive granular media.

Predicting powder flows remains a major challenge for many industries. While our understanding of dry granular materials has progressed significantly, the presence of adhesive interaction forces in powders makes their behaviour more complex. The recruitment of this post-doc is part of the European ERC project CohPa aimed at improving our understanding and modelling of powder flows. The post-doc will be responsible for developing discrete numerical simulations to characterise the flow properties of model cohesive granular media in relation to experiments carried out in the laboratory. The postdoc will be required to supervise masters and PhD students.

The post-doctorate will take place within the SOFT axis of the IUSTI laboratory, a collaborative team working on the physics of complex matter, from granular media to bio-inspired systems. https://iusti.cnrs.fr/la-recherche-a-liusti/milieux-divises-et-fluides-…
The work will take place on the Chateau Gombert campus of Aix Marseille University.
