Join the Bordeaux Population Health Center (BPH) - at the University of Bordeaux!

 

The Bordeaux Population Health Center (BPH) is one of France's leading population health research centers (~500 people) working on a wide range of public health topics.

Join the INNOVTRIAL project teams. This project focuses on the development of statistical methods to more accurately estimate the number of patients required and the effects of treatments, with the aim of improving the methodology of clinical trials in cancerology.

In this context, we are recruiting a Post-Doc position in Biostatistics.

 

Main activities :

This position is part of a 2-year fixed-term project contract that is linked to the achievement of qualitative and quantitative results such as the development of statistical models and the publication of articles in international scientific journals, including a presentation at a conference.

The activities required to achieve these objectives are as follows:

Develop statistical methods adapted to the planning of innovative clinical trials in oncology (based on a composite criterion or recurrent events).

  • You will carry out a bibliography and exchange with project partners to identify the challenges of these developments.
  • You will take stock of existing statistical tools and R packages
  • You will compare existing methods based on real data from clinical trials in oncology.
  • You propose a new statistical method, including tests in simulations and on real data.
  • You share your progress and results at meetings and congresses, and write for international journals.

PhD or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

Holder of a PhD in Biostatistics (or equivalent), you have experience in data analysis, statistical testing and survival models.

- You have good writing and interpersonal skills.

- You demonstrate autonomy, leadership, scientific ethics and rigor (deadline constraints).

- Knowledge of clinical research and oncology

- Fluency in English (oral and written comprehension and expression) at C1 / B2 level

- Excellent command of office automation tools (Pack Office, LATEX, etc.) and R software

Knowledge of C++ programming would be appreciated (not required).
