Developed since 100 years on the campus, our lab approaches to understand the nitrogen nutrition in plants aims to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in nutrient uptake and signaling. During these last years, our approaches focused on root nutrition. At present, we want to study the physiological and molecular aspect of the plant's foliar nutrition. The recruited person will be involved in the SNUp-Reg project. This project aims to characterize the physiological and molecular processes involved in the foliar acquisition of nitrogen compounds (nitrate and urea) in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. The recruited post-doc will focus on two genome-wide approaches (transcriptomic and GWAS) in order to identify candidate genes involved in Shoot Nitrogen Uptake. She/He will also be in charge of developing the reporter constructs for live imaging on the candidate genes identified. Finally, He/She will contribute to the physiological characterization of urea and nitrate uptake from leaves.

The work will be developed in the B&PMP laboratory in Montpellier, in the team HoNuDe. The laboratory hosts Isotopic Quantification platform (AQUI) and has easy access to the imaging platform (MRI). The work will be partially supported by a technician.
