Offer Description

The candidate will join the team "Phagocyte architecture and dynamics" at the IPBS. He/she will develop a research project aiming at understanding the mechanical functioning of phagocytosis. This study will be carried out under the supervision of Renaud Poincloux.

The postdoctoral fellow will be in charge of the development of the project and will adopt a multidisciplinary strategy combining cell biology approaches, force measurements, quantitative 3D imaging and cryo-electron tomography. He/she will design, implement and interpret the experiments. For this, he/she will work independently but also with other team members and collaborators for the needs of the project. He/she will participate in the dissemination and valorization of the results and will carry out the bibliographic watch of the field.

The successful candidate must have a PhD. Experience in cell biology, biophysics and/or imaging is expected. We are looking for an autonomous, rigorous, dynamic, motivated and persevering candidate. The candidate must have published scientific articles, be organized, meticulous and have a strong sense of ethics.

The project will be developed at the IPBS, which is a Joint Research Unit of the CNRS and the Paul Sabatier University (University of Toulouse). The main objective of the IPBS is the identification, characterization and exploitation of new therapeutic targets in the fields of cancer, infection and inflammation. The postdoctoral fellow will join the team led by Renaud Poincloux and Christel Vérollet, which studies the interactions between phagocytes and their environment, in physiological and pathological contexts.
